YAV – Young Adult Volunteers

a year of service for a lifetime of change

The PCUSA Young Adult Volunteer program is a one year service opportunity for young adults from 19 to 30 years. YAVs live in intentional Christian community, deepening and developing their faith while serving alongside partners in sites across the United States and around the world. YAVs serve for one academic year, August – July, as they explore God’s calling in their lives.

Nashville  – Epiphany Project (NEP)
These days, Nashville rightly appears on all kinds of “best” lists and is making a name for itself as one of the most creative and forward-thinking cities in the American South. Nashville YAVs enjoy this cultural Renaissance to the fullest while also serving as prophetic voices on the margins of a city that cannot hide from its history of discrimination, segregation, and disenfranchisement, and which must continue to wrestle with how these systemic patterns shape the present and future for its growing populations of immigrants, refugees, and people who live with homelessness and poverty.
