Program Assistant for Children & Families Ministry, First Presbyterian, Nashville (posted June 2, 2021): The Children and Families department is searching for a part time program assistant working between 20-25 hours weekly, days negotiable. Someone with a passion for progressing the use of technology as a way to care for people, who has proficiency with large databases, Microsoft office suite products, Adobe, Mailchimp and WordPress. This person will be supporting the Children’s Director and staff and the Early Preschool Director and staff.   Needs to be proactive with learning new technologies/updates and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people of all age levels; including children, volunteers we serve and other staff members. Other preferred traits: organized, efficient with time management, creative, the ability to inventory and order supplies weekly, and basic graphic design. Director of Early Preschool, First Presbyterian, Nashville (posted May 22, 2021): Early Preschool is a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited preschool program, a weekday ministry for children ages 18 months through 5 years serving approximately 90 students from 80 families with a staff of 22. It is seeking a dynamic, thoughtful, and visionary leader to serve as its Director and to build upon its current success. The ideal candidate would align with the Early Preschool’s values, where all are seen as unique children of God. God’s person for this role will confess Christ preeminent in all things (Colossians 1:18) and will live a life reflecting the Lordship of Christ. The candidate will possess the right competencies and initiative to lead with excellence, and is someone who desires, above all else, to sow seeds of faith and trust in these young and precious lives. This candidate would also align with the mission of the Early Preschool, which is to support the development of children socially and emotionally into life-long learners, and to create a community where children, families, and relationships are respected, nurtured, and highly esteemed. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated track records of success in 1) early childhood development and education; 2) parent communication and satisfaction; and 3) operational excellence.  Either a minimum of three years of experience as a Director of an NAEYC accredited program, or a minimum of a combined five years as a lead teacher or Assistant Director in a NAEYC accredited Early Childhood program is preferred. The position is under the general supervision of the Director of Ministry with Children and their Families with overall oversight by Pastoral staff.
