2017 Missions of PMT Churches

Care Kitchen – Belfast Presbyterian Church, Belfast
Care Kitchen is a Thursday evening feeding program at First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg
and is governed, funded, and staffed by eight churches, including FPC Lewisburg.

Jacaranda Mission (Nairobi, Kenya) – Brentwood First Presbyterian Church, Brentwood
The Jacaranda Ministry is a holistic mission in the slums of Nairobi that includes microbusiness
training for women, a medical clinic for women and children, and educational centers for children.

College Grove Community Food Bank – East Brentwood Presbyterian Church, Brentwood
Working with other churches in Williamson County, food is collected and distributed each Saturday
at the food bank. Many members of the congregation participate and volunteer at the pantry.

Compass: Mentoring Initiative – Westminster Presbyterian Church, Columbia
Compass Mentoring Initiative was developed to provide a place for court ordered youth to
complete their community service hours while attending a 10-week mentoring program.

Food Baskets – Westminster Presbyterian Church, Fairfield Glade
About 40-60 food baskets are prepared and delivered three times a year (Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) to people in the Crossville area, including Rockwood, Lake Tansi, and Crab Orchard.

Coats to Warm Those in Need – First Presbyterian Church, Hendersonville
This new mission encourages members to donate their jackets and coats to those in need.
Their goal was to receive 75-100 jackets and wound up collecting over 400 jackets.

God’s Storehouse & Crossroads Coffee House – First Presbyterian Church, Lawrenceburg
Founded to assist the needy in Lawrence County, this cooperative effort of local churches
provides food, clothing, and assistance.  The coffee house is a ministry to teens in the area.

Compassionate Hands – First Presbyterian Church, Lebanon
Compassionate Hands is a ministry of local churches to provide a safe shelter to the homeless during the winter months.  PFC houses women each Saturday evening and men each Wednesday night.

Food Bank at FPC Lewisburg – First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg
Partnering together, Belfast Presbyterian Church and FPC Lewisburg stock a food pantry
at the church that serves those who are food insecure in Lewisburg and Marshall County.

Thanksgiving Mission Meal – First Presbyterian Church, McMinnville
The entire congregation is involved with cooking, serving, and delivering over
400 meals to anyone in the McMinnville area who requests this traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Help for Nicaragua – First Presbyterian Church, Murfreesboro
Help for Nicaragua helps maintain the Santa Lastenia Health Clinic, an entry point for health
care for approximately 4,000 people living in an isolated area of north-central Nicaragua.

The Sunny Day Club – Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Nashville
The Sunny Day Club is for those with early stages of memory loss and allows the caregiver
respite for a known block of time.  The Sunny Day Club meets every Wednesday.

Room in the Inn and Luke 14:12 – Donelson Presbyterian Church, Nashville
Donelson Presbyterian has a history of providing shelter during winter months for Room in the
Inn ministry.  They also support and serve with Luke 14:12, providing meals for the homeless.

GraceWorks – Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Nashville
Emmanuel supports GraceWorks, an organization that meets the needs of struggling families
in Williamson County, with donations of food, volunteers, and financial contributions.

Exhibiting God’s Love through Service – First Presbyterian Church, Nashville
Ongoing service events include serving dinner to families at Safe Haven Family Shelter,
serving lunch to the homeless at the Downtown Presbyterian Church, and hosting Room in the Inn.

Arlington UMC Food Pantry & Room in the Inn – Glencliff Presbyterian Church, Nashville
Food items are collected and monetary donations received for the emergency Food Pantry
Outreach at Arlington UMC.  Members also assemble personal hygiene bags for Room in the Inn.

Project J.O.Y. and Angaza Nuru – Priest Lake Presbyterian Church, Nashville
Anguza Nuru, a ministry of Priest Lake PC, is an outreach program in the community
of Lower Bodoi, Kenya, that provides a weekly feeing program as well as a nursery school. 

 Smyrna/LaVergne Food Bank – First Presbyterian Church, Smyrna
The congregation support the Smyrna/LaVergne Food Bank by supplying needed
food items monthly to help alleviate hunger in Middle Tennessee.
